How can I view my course as a non-HEC student (without an HEC email adress)?
If you are enrolled in a course but do not have an HEC email address, you must first create an account in ZoneCours, HEC Montréal’s Learning Management System.
You will receive an email invitation from HEC Montréal including the necessary information.
Depending on your situation, you might need to use the link to create a user account or the one to register to a course (if you already have a ZoneCours account).

Create a user account
When clicking on the Create Account link (https://hecmontreal.instructure.com/register), you will be asked to set up your ZoneCours user account.
On the login page, click Étudiant.
Enter the required information in the form:
Nom complet (Full name) [1] : first and last name
Nom d’utilisateur (Username) [2] : your email address
Mot de passe (Your password) [3] : must meet the following requirements:
It must include at least 8 characters.
It must content a number (ex : 0…9).
It must content a symbol (ex : ! @ # $ %)
It must not use common words or characters sequences in passwords (for example: password, 12345, etc...)
Code de participation (participation code) [4] : 6-character code provided in the invitation email sent by HEC Montréal.
Click on Suivant (Following) [5] to save this information.
Once the form has been submitted, you will be redirected to your dashboard where you will have access to the course.
By default, your user account is set up in French. You can choose a different interface language by changing your user account settings. In the global navigation menu, click on Compte (account) [1], then click on Paramètres (settings) [2].
Click on “Modifier les paramètres” [1] to open the settings window.
There are two settings you can change in this section: the display language (langue) [1] and the time zone (fuseau horaire) [2]. Select your preferred option from the drop-down menu for each setting. Click on ''Mettre à jour les paramètres'' [3] to save your changes.
Register to a course
If you already have an external ZoneCours account (an account with an email address different from HEC Montréal), you can use the registration link that was sent to you by email (in the format https://hecmontreal.instructure.com/enroll/code).
On the login page, click on “J’ai un compte ZoneCours associé à une autre adresse courriel”.
Enter your email address in the login field named Connexion [1] , then your password in the field Mot de passe [2] and confirm by clicking Connexion button [3].
The course title appears on screen [1]. Click on S’inscrire au cours [2] to complete the registration.
The course now appears on your dashboard.
Access the course
The next time you connect, you'll be able to access your courses directly by clicking the link « J’ai un compte Zone Cours associé à une autre adresse courriel » to log in.
